AUSTRALIAN NATIVE WILDLIFE SERIES
In the 1990’s I moved to the South East Queensland area where I ran a Native Animal rehabilitation and release project from my property. The property bordered a wildlife corridor which was a perfect release site for the ringtail possums and sugar gliders which were rehabilitated and released. During this period I was able to interact with and study a large variety of Australian wildlife at close range, not only the creatures that we were rehabilitating, but a wide variety of other native wildlife who visited the property. EMU SERIES
I first began painting Emus in 2008. Quirky, curious birds with interesting faces and each one full of character. Before long this had become a series of Emu paintings, each one with a different name and personality.
